Give your existing fans and subscribers an easy way to access content on your new membership website using import tools.

Export any external list of supporters, email subscribers or patrons and make sure your fans are able to access your content on your brand new custom site.

When should you import members?

Being able to import any list members to your site in Ghost unlocks many possibilities, for example:

  • Email lists - if you already have a list of email subscribers in a tool like Mailchimp, give them access your members-only content or even use Ghost to write your newsletter and send it out with a little automation.
  • Patreon supporters - import existing paid-members from your Patreon account into Ghost and use it as a custom website that only your patrons can access.
  • Migrations - bring members of any kind from another membership platform to migrate your publishing business to Ghost.

Importing a CSV

Log into your site's admin and navigate to the members dashboard. Clicking the settings icon at the top will give you the option to import or export members with ease using a CSV file.

Importing members in Ghost

Imports should be in a CSV format and there are three fields that can be populated in the members dashboard using the headings of email, name and note.

It's also possible to automate keeping your members list up to date using our Zapier integration to automatically send new subscribers that have been added to other apps directly into Ghost, or vice versa.
