How to use Ghost and Carrd together

Add native Ghost signup forms to your Carrd sites to collect member signups and newsletter subscriptions with ease

Carrd is a simple, free platform for building one-page sites for pretty much anything. With Carrd’s built-in Ghost integration, you can add fully functional member signup forms directly to your Carrd sites using Ghost’s Admin API - perfect for landing pages, link-in-bio pages, and simple marketing sites.

Requirements

This feature requires a Carrd Pro Standard plan or higher. You’ll also need access to your Ghost site’s admin panel to create a custom integration.

Create a Ghost custom integration

First, you’ll need to obtain your Ghost Admin API credentials. Log in to your Ghost admin panel and navigate to Settings → Integrations.

Click Add custom integration and give it a name like “Carrd Signup Form”. Once created, copy both the API URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com) and Admin API Key - you’ll need these in the next step.

Add and configure a form in Carrd

In your Carrd site editor, click Add Element and select Form from the element options.

In the form settings, set the Type to “Signup” and select Via Ghost from the dropdown.

Enter your Ghost credentials:

  • API URL: Your Ghost site URL that you copied from the custom integration
  • Admin API Key: The Admin API Key from your Ghost custom integration

Optional configuration

Add a member note

You can optionally add a note that will be stored with each new member signup. This is useful for tracking which Carrd page the signup came from.

Configure newsletter subscriptions

By default, new members will be subscribed to your Ghost site’s default newsletter. To subscribe members to specific newsletters instead, enter Newsletter IDs in the form settings. You can find these IDs in your Ghost admin under Settings → Newsletters.

Apply member labels

You can automatically tag new contacts using Ghost’s member labels feature. Enter any labels you’d like to apply to members who sign up through this form.

Customize your form

Use the Fields tab to rename or toggle form fields, and the Button tab to customize the submit button’s label and styling to match your site design.

Publish your site

Once configured, publish your Carrd site and test the signup form. New signups will appear in your Ghost admin under Members, complete with any notes, newsletter subscriptions, and labels you configured.
