Tier-specific welcome sequences

When we launched welcome sequences for new members, one of the clearest pieces of feedback we heard was that onboarding new paid members often takes more nuance. Different paid tiers come with different benefits — a members-only podcast, a private Discord channel, or access to exclusive content.

Ghost now lets you build a separate welcome sequence for each level of membership, so every new member gets the message that’s right for them.

Starting today, you can create your own automations beyond the default free and paid welcome flows. Trigger each one based on the tier a member joins by targeting any paid tier or a combination of tiers.

Set up your automations however makes sense for your audience. Gold and Silver members can share one sequence while Bronze members get another. Or keep your existing paid welcome flow running for everyone, and create a separate automation that sends Gold members their private podcast feed a day after they join.

Automations are currently in beta. To try them, enable Automations in Settings → Labs, then head to the Automations tab to set up your first tier-specific sequence.
