Retention offers

The best customer is the one you already have, or at least that’s how the old adage goes. To help you retain your paid members who may be on the fence, we've added retention offers – a new way to prevent churn before it happens.

Now when a paid member goes to cancel their subscription, you can present them with a special retention offer before they confirm. Offer a free month, multiple free months, or a percentage discount on upcoming payments, whichever feels right for your audience.

Retention offers are cadence-based – set one up for monthly members and one for annual, regardless of how many tiers you have. Each offer is fully customizable, so you can adjust the discount as well as the headline and description to match your brand's tone of voice.

Once enabled, you can track redemptions directly from your offer management dashboard, or filter your member list to see exactly which members stayed because of a retention offer.

To customize and activate your retention offers, head over to Settings → Offers in Ghost Admin and click manage offers.

Ghost(Pro) users can log in and start enjoying all of this right away! If you're a developer, self-hosting Ghost, you'll need to update to the latest version to get access to everything that's new.
