Memberships in Ghost are passwordless. When a member signs up or signs in, they get an email with a magic link to confirm their account or log in. It's more secure than passwords, and ensures every member on your list is a real person — keeping your deliverability and engagement high.
The one extra step? Opening your email.
Ghost now detects your member’s email provider and links them straight to their inbox with a pre-filtered search — landing them directly on the message they’re looking for. It works with Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, and many more. If a provider isn't detected or supported, everything works exactly as before.

Ghost(Pro) users can log in and start enjoying all of this right away! If you're a developer, self-hosting Ghost, you'll need to update to the latest version to get access to everything that's new.
