Home Assistant
Ghost now has an official integration for Home Assistant, the open source smart home platform used by millions of people around the world.
If you're already running Home Assistant, you can now pull your Ghost publication data directly into your dashboards and automations.

For the past few years, our Zapier integration has allowed you to integrate Ghost with other software. Now, you can also connect Ghost to hardware, IoT devices, and anything that works with Home Assistant.
Once connected, you'll have access to sensors for all of your key Ghost metrics — total members, paid members, free members, MRR, ARR, published posts, draft posts, your latest send stats including opens, clicks, open rate, and social web data.
This means you can now bring your publication data to any smart home display, dashboard, widget, mobile phone, or even smart watch.

And, of course, Home Assistant's automation engine can trigger actions based on any sensor change — so you can get a push notification on your phone when you hit a member milestone, flash your office lights when a newsletter goes out, or put your MRR on a 7-segment display jacked into an Arduino.
If Home Assistant can control it, your Ghost data can drive it.
Getting started
The Ghost integration is built directly into Home Assistant, and can be installed from inside your Home Assistant integrations area.
If you don't yet have a Home Assistant install, you might enjoy checking out their getting started guides. It's the #1 most active open source project across all of GitHub, with a huge community of tinkerers, enthusiasts and developers.
Open software for an open future
Ghost has a long history of aligning itself with open standards and open organizations, because it's the future we believe in. Just like Ghost, Home Assistant is open source software stewarded by a non-profit organization called The Open Home Foundation.
We both share a belief that the most important technology in people's lives should be transparent, independent, and built in the interests of the people who depend on it, not just investors and shareholders behind the scenes.
The Home Assistant team also publish a wonderful monthly newsletter, powered by Ghost:

Ghost(Pro) users can log in and start enjoying all of this right away! If you're a developer, self-hosting Ghost, you'll need to update to the latest version to get access to everything that's new.
If there are ways you think this feature could be more valuable based on the way you use Ghost, we'd like to hear it. Let us know using the feedback link in the left sidebar of Ghost Admin.
