Email clipping warnings

Know if your newsletter will get cut off in the inbox, before you send
Email clipping warnings

Email providers like Gmail often clip longer emails in the inbox, hiding everything past a certain point behind a "View entire message" link, which most readers never click.

What makes this hard to predict is that clipping isn’t just based on length — it's about file size. A newsletter with lots of links, embeds, or images can hit the limit long before a text-heavy post does.

Now, the next time you find yourself in a particularly long-winded mood, Ghost will keep track of your newsletter's expected size as you write, and warn you if it's at risk of being clipped before you hit send.

And just to make sure you don't miss it, you'll find these warnings in the bottom right of your editor, in your newsletter preview, and when you publish.

Ghost(Pro) users can log in and start enjoying all of this right away! If you're a developer, self-hosting Ghost, you'll need to update to the latest version to get access to everything that's new.
