Export your supporters from Patreon and quickly import them to Ghost Members. Or automate the process to give your Patrons access to members-only content on your Ghost site.
Ghost allows Patreon creators to import their Patrons via the member dashboard. This gives your supporters access to members-only content on your Ghost publication using a sensible email based login flow.
This unlocks additional ways for you to deliver content to your audience, or offer premium benefits and tiers to your supporters. The best thing: you can setup this integration without a single line of code.
In your Patreon creator account, go to the patrons > relationship manager view and filter your patrons accordingly. Then use the CSV button to download your list.
In Ghost, you can import a CSV file with three headings:
note. Email is the only required field to make this integration work.
Once your CSV is good to go, login to Ghost Admin and click the settings icon in the members dashboard to import your patrons.
That's it - you can now let your patrons know that they can head to your website and enter their email to access members-only content.
The above method is great for getting started with importing your paying supporters into Ghost. You might also want to automate this process in the future, so that all new patrons are automatically sent into Ghost.
You can use our official Zapier integration to connect your Patreon account with Ghost and make sure that new patrons who make a pledge can access members-only content on your Ghost publication.
If you would like the content on your Ghost publication to only be available to your patrons or paid-members that you import from any other platform, you can prevent free member signup in a couple of clicks.
Navigate to the members settings page from the labs menu in Ghost admin and turn the "allow free member signup" setting off.
This means any public visitors to your site will be unable to signup for free access to content. The only way people will be able to login to their members account is if they have been imported via an integration with Patreon or other members list.
To run your Ghost members site in this way, you should also consider setting your default post access to members only.
You can also publish paid-members only content on your Ghost site if you wish to provide new visitors to your site with a way to subscribe without having to go through Patreon.
